A busy week in Ta Town

Hey ladies it looks like its been a while since I posted last. I have been very very busy here doing my own thing so to speak. After you see my photos you will see why :)
Oops Andy is missing a shoe :)
These my friends are a huge pile of Annie and Andy bodies I have been working on this week. I almost have one Andy completed. I am having to design him as I am going along. I am having to re-adjust sizes from all the patterns that I now have. This body was a tad smaller than the other bodies ;) I have also been working on my own Raggedy Annie doll from scratch. I am designing a pattern that I can use in my swaps and not make anyone upset. I am here to have fun.. I will post more on the pattern later on down the road. I will show you as I make Annie and Andy dolls.

This is a wonderful and fun apron that I made my Step Mom for her birthday today :) It's made from Michael Miller fabric. I change this pattern too.... as I can never leave things the way they are :) I put on this very sweet heart shaped pocket. I thought it made it feel like.... it was made from the heart. I want her to know I love her ;)
I even took the time to make my own bias tape :) wow I sure did get a lot of steamed fingers doing this. I found that the bias tape makers are fun to use.. but you have to be very careful with them. As they don't always fold the fabric right. I had to go back several times to re-fold. But that's ok that is where all the fun comes in. Learning how to use a new tool and discovering a new technique.
Here is the happy owner of this wonderful apron. She just gushed over it.. she really loved it :)

This is my apron that I received from my sweet partner Maria. This was my up-cycled apron made by her. Isn't it funny how she and I had the same exact idea as far as the buttons down the front of the apron? I love it. Now I don't have to feel so bad I sent out the Angled up-cycled apron that I made. You will read about it further down this posting ;)

This is the little Annie that Lisa received from me. All my swappers got a pouch and tea/drink wallet with their swap as my extra. I really like how this little girl turned out. I am sorry you can't see her really well ..but this is one of the photos that remained after the camera dropped almost all the photos.

Photo from my swap partner Lisa's blog :)

This is my sweet Sophie Rose I received from my swap partner Lisa from South Wales from the Uk... Isn't she adorable :) I just love her pigtails and the wonderful shabby pink clothing and sage green shoes. Thank you Lisa :)

Here is my Angel-ed Apron that I made for one of my swappers that did not receive a package. She had the un-fortunate luck to get one of the swap-lifters. She has received it and loves it :) LOL this apron was also one that was hard for me to let go... because I love how it turned out :)

This is the back of the jumper that I used.. I was bad and forgot to take the before Photo .. so I did the best I could with the remaining materials ;)

Here is the front of the jumper that I used on my up-cycled apron :) I know not much left but I think you can imagine what it might look like ;)

This is the finished apron.. the apron color was more like the extras photo color. I loved this apron.. it looks very very girly :)

These are the extras that I made ;)

ANNIE #2

Here is an Annie I made for Viv from Viv on a whim :) This was the Annie #2 swap. She has received the Annie and she loves her :) I also included a tea/drink wallet and a nice pouch with it as extras.

I love all of these. I wish I knew how to do them but it would be a little harder as I don't own a sewing machine. But that is on my birthday and Christmas wishlist! Grea job and I love the aprons too!

Indeed, you have been busy!

I love your blog, and thanks ever so much for stopping by mine and leaving a wonderful comment.

I especially love the aprons photos you shared.

I went to my local book store yesterday to look for any of Ellynanne Geisel's books, but sadly, they weren't carrying any of them. Oh well, I'll just have to force myself to go to Borders in search of one. *laugh* whisper* I love book stores!

I enjoyed this post very much.

Sophie Rose is beautiful! Amazing how the facial features can make the same pattern look totally different. Your first photo, the bodies, reminds me of the valley of the dry bones - they are just waiting for the leg bone to be connected to the hip bone...

Wow- that's a lot of Annies & Andy's you got in the 1st photo. Is that for your family? Sophie Rose is adorable. I love her face- love the pigtails and her overall colors! CUTE! You made some sweet Annies too! Yippyy!!! You're making your own pattern- you go girl! Woohoo!!! What a clever idea to make an extras pouch and tea wallet. You'll have to make a tutorial for the wallet. When you have time hahaha! Don't burn out now! Luvs ya hun!
Hugs!

great aprons....I love your term 'swap-lifter.' Gets right to the point.
The doll parts crack me up...looks like someone got loose in Doctor Frankenstein's toy box :-)
