In a zoo in California, a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth. The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into a depression.

The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve. After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only orphans' that could be found quickly, were a litter of weanling pigs.

The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger. Would they become cubs or pork chops? Take a look...you won't believe your eyes!!

Now, please tell me one more time... Why can't the rest of the world get along?

My recipe for the Fall Sassy Apron Swap

CHERRY LATTICE PIE
2 - 16oz cans Red Pitted Cherries (tart) (water packed)
1 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Cornstarch
1 Tablespoon Butter
3-4 Drops of Almond Extract
10 Drops of Red Food Color
1 Pkg Pie Crusts (or home made crust of course)

Drain cherries reserving 1 Cup of liquid from drained cherries.
In large sauce pan: combine 3/4 Cup sugar, and the cornstarch.
Stir into sugar, and cornstarch the reserved cherry liquid.
Cook and stir over Med heat until bubbly and thick, after reaching that stage continue to cook and stir two more minutes.
Remove from heat. Stir in remaining Sugar , Butter and Almond extract. Stir in cherries and, if desired the food coloring. Cool mixture slightly.
Transfer Cherry mixture in to pastry-lined pie pan. Top with lattice Crust. ( I just put a top layer on mine and poke holes into the top crust)
To prevent over browning cover the edges of pie crust with tin foil.
BAKE:
Bake at a 375 degree oven for 25 mins, remove foil and bake another 25-30 mins or until top is golden brown.
Cool on wire rack.

I finally took the leap!!!

I finally purchased my Quilting Frame ... Here are pictures of what my new baby will look like.. So ladies to keep me out of the poor house.. You must hurry over to my two Etsy shops and purchase something so mommy can make the payments on her new baby :)

I hope to after I have ruined a couple of my quilt tops... LOL or should I say.. when I learn on a couple of my quilt tops.. I want to offer reasonable quilt top stitching. This will not be the super fancy stitching but nice all the same. I will have to figure out the time spent sewing up my 3 tops and see what would be a reasonable price to charge. If anyone has any idea send me an email ....post it to my email address that is on my profile page.

Some days all you can do is smile and wait for some kind soul to come pull your butt out of the bind you've gotten yourself into.

SPECIAL POEM FOR OLDER FOLKS

A row of bottles on my shelf, caused me to analyze myself.
One yellow pill I have to pop, goes to my heart so it won't stop.
A little white one that I take, goes to my hands so they won't shake.
The blue ones that I use a lot, tell me I'm happy when I'm not.
The purple pill goes to my brain, and tells me that I have no pain.
The capsules tell me not to wheeze, cough, choke or even sneeze.
The red ones smallest of them all, go to my blood so I won't fall.
The orange ones very big and bright, prevent my leg cramps in the night.
Such an array of brilliant pills helping to cure all kinds of ills.
But what I'd really like to know...........Is what tells each one where to go!



There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it. For example I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt...

In MONTEREY PARK, Calif. - It wasn't the man on the hog who found himself being greedy.

Police near Los Angeles say motorists stopped in speeding traffic to gather up bills Sunday after a man on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle dropped a bag of cash.
They took off when the California Highway Patrol arrived.
The biker told authorities a computer bag he was carrying ripped and spilled money across Interstate 10, where people were driving in 65 mph traffic.

Highway Patrol Officer Anthony Martin says he doesn't know how much cash was in the bag or how much drivers made away with.

Buttons and Bow Pincushion..filled with vintage buttons

Here is my newest Item I am going to be selling in my Etsy Shop. My Button and Bows Pincushion. This little pincushion jar will be fill to the brim with vintage buttons. Come by take a look see. I hope to get these items listed by next weekend if not during the Holiday weekend :)

Each little pincushion is stuff with crush walnut shells and fiberfil to keep those pins nice and sharp.. Thank you Cathy for this wonderful filler idea :)
