I am in a group call The Toy Society its where you make and give away toys. It follows along the lines of RAOK.. which I am all for as my blog readers know. This toy society has members all over the world if your interested. Just click on my Toy Society button. It will take you to their web site to learn more about this wonderful idea :)

How toy society works ......You can make as many toys a month as you want or as few as you want.... Its one of those work at your own pace sort of thing. After you have created your toys.... you drop them off in locations where someone will notice them, pick them up and take them home. I would like your opinion.... do you think my doll I made yesterday is suitable for children. Well is it????????? Please please tell your true opinions. I really need to know what you think.......I don't want to send out something that will hurt a child!!!!

LOL Betty, You may not believe this but I don't carry a purse. I only carry what will fit in my jean pockets. I have a very small card case, my nitro, and my asthma inhaler. I never got use to carrying a purse. I think my dislike for purses started in the 7th grade. My Grandmother bought me one big enough for all my books and someone elses too. Of course all the girls were toting around the ones that are no bigger than a one pound butter box. So needless to say I was so embarrassed. I quit carrying one when that happened. But let me tell you my cowboy boots can carry a ton of stuff. :)

I love this tea pot material.. this apron has extra long ties ..the ties are long enough they wrap around this chunky dunky granny :) I even received a wonderful assortment of teas to go with it. They smell so yummy. I can't wait to try them :)

Look at all of these wonderful items I received from Lucy's and Shawnee's apron swap. I have to tell you my partner really spoiled me on this swap. Everything is so wonderful.. Thank you my Sweet Friend. I have to tell you about this wonderful hand sewn pouch. I love it!!! The pouch is large enough that it could be used as a pillow covering for a small pillow ;) Or I think is large enough to put small handcrafted items in that your working on. Nadine has also added the wonderful fabric and lace to the matching tea towel. Which I noticed on my photos you can't see much of it. I'm sorry for that. Who would not like cookie cutters and heart socks?? Do you see a clear heart next to the bag???? Well it is empty.... yes you guessed it!!! It had wonderful yummy Dark Chocolate Truffles in it!!! I have to tell you it was hard not to eat them all the first day. It took me three ;)

Here is a close up of the fantastic heart shaped pin that came with handmade bag. Yes this was also made by Nadine. She had a naming contest on her blog recently for her handcrafted necklaces. Of course I tried to name a title for them. But I did not win. Yarnigras won with her name... Congrats again Val :) I have to tell you this pin is so pretty the photo really does not show how wonderful it truly is ;) And I am sorry its a little blurred I see :o(

Ok with out further a do.....Here is the wonderful apron that my Partner Nadine gave me from Lucy's and Shawnee's Valentines Day Apron Swap. I just love the scallops and the vintage fabric on this very very special apron.

LOL I have to tell you Nadine had this apron posted up on her blog for about two weeks. I spent several days drooling over this wonderful creation. You can imagine the surprise I got when I open my package and there it was!!!! Once again Nadine it is wonderful.. Thank YOU!!!

Swoozie Whistlebottom

Hello my sweet bloggie friends :) Thank you for all the nice e-mails asking if I am ok!!! Yes I am ok... I just started a new job and new hours this week. I have to tell you it has sort of kicked me in the pants. I use to work 9pm - 7am 4 days a week ... now I am working 7am -5pm four days a week. So I have been very tired and trying to learn to sleep nights. It has been over 8 years of O dark Thirty hours at work. I also had a lot of personal things to do this week. Like Dr's appointments, shopping for new clothes to wear at the new job. Banking stuff... and so on.... So doing all of that has left me no time to sew or blog. But I hope I am more of my sweet funny self this week :) I have missed visiting all of your blogs also!!! I am sorry I have not been around...just a lot on the plate.

I hope all of you had a wonderful and Happy Valentines Day with your Families and Friends :) I know I had a great day with my sweet Daddie O and Step Mom :o)

I have some swaps I need to post up on the blog for all of you to drool over!!! Eye candy coming up!!! I know you will love seeing my newest aprons that I received from Swaps. I love them and I am sure you will too!!! And NO you can not have the one from Nadine :) It's all MINE!!

Wow!!!!! Double Wow!!!!! Ladies I have to give you a big round of applause!!!!! I can't believe it ... all the aprons have been sent out on time!!!!.... That means that everyone should have their apron by the 14th.

I have to tell all of you lovely ladies.....THANK YOU so much for making this swap one of the best ones that I have hosted. You ladies ROCK!!! I have really enjoyed seeing all of the fabulous aprons and the goodies that were sent along with them.

*Teacups and Teapots*

Hey little bloggie friends... I thought I would take a wee break. I have been sewing since before the sun came up and I sewed this lovely apron for a swap off of Swap-Bot its due next week :)

This little apron is made with all cotton fabric. The fabric has little teacups and watering cans all over it :) The red fabric is splotched with little white hearts. I think it turn out rather nice considering I did some new techniques to me. What was the new technique you ask???? I made my own double bias tape!!!! I have learned one thing it takes a bit of time to make bias tape this small. I think the next time I make it ... I will make it 1/2 inch instead of 1/4 inch. Making something new to me was a lot of fun though. I got on the net and researched how to make continuous bias stripping. It was pretty easy to make once you get the hang of it. But like I said took me about 2 hours to make the bias... way to long for a give away apron... Or maybe not :) Depends on who is getting it I suppose :)!!!! Now I am off to the next project to do some research. I joined a swap where I have to make 60 siggie quilt blocks. I am going to get the measurements and start those today. They are not due until Tax Day (April 15th)...but with Booming Aprons, My two swaps, and making my PIF's and my toy society toys... I need to get those started right away. I don't want to wait until the last minute to get them done. I was in a few more swaps on Swap-Bot for aprons.. but it seems all I do is sew for someone else. So I dropped out of about three swaps there. I think its time for a break on Swap-Bot. So I better get with it on the things I need to sew today :)

Wet Water Sponge Toys

I swiped this tutorial off the inter-net I thought it would be fun for all my bloggie friends with wee ones :) This would even be fun at an adult pool party. A very nice way to have fun and cool off in the summer months :)

These water sponges soak up tons of water and pack a wet watery punch when thrown. They are easy to make and fun for the kids to throw. Here is how to make Wet Water Sponges.
Buy new kitchen sponges from any grocery store. They usually come in packs of 6 in all colors. Do Not buy the kind with the scouring pad, only the soft cello sponges pictured here. They have smaller 3×5 and larger 5×7. I like the smaller, they are easier to tie together and better for little fingers to hold. But you could make a large one that would get someone really wet. Also buy “zip ties”, sold at a hardware store. I bought two kinds not knowing that one had a hook at the top, but it turned out good for the butterfly below.

Cut each sponge length-wise in thirds. Then group together 8-9 cut pieces for each sponge. You can do a few more, or you can even do less. You can mix and match colors of the sponges, all blue, all pink, pink all around and one green for the center. We did ones with just 2 strips that worked great for the littlest kids, and they looked like cute little butterflies - fun for a birthday water party.


Now center a zip tie around all the sponges and pull the tie through the hole. Pull the zip tie tight, as much as you can until it won’t go anymore. Then cut off the excess zip tie. Fluff up the sponge strips to make a nice looking water toy.
You’re done. Dip each sponge in a bucket and get each other wet. You can play with them in the pool or even in the bathtub.

Have fun making water sponges. It’s hot this summer and these will help keep you cool.
