Pineapple Limeade

1 cup sugar
6 cups pineapple juice, chilled
1 cup lime juice
2 liters sparkling water, chilled
Lime slice, if desired
1. Mix sugar and juices in large plastic or glass pitcher. Pour half of mixture into another pitcher.
2. Just before serving, stir sparkling water into juice mixture. Serve over ice. Garnish with lime slices.

Doesn't this sound good on a hot Summer Day?

Firecracker Favors

Guests will get a bang out of these "firecracker" favors, which can be filled with sparklers. Wrap paper towel tubes with crepe paper; add favor, then hot-glue a cardboard circle to the tube's bottom. Insert a pipe cleaner "wick"; tie off. Click image to get the clip art to put on your own firecrackers ;)

Stars and Stripes Clip-Art Paper Cones

Filled with a mix of beet and blue-potato chips, this easy-to-make container is something to cheer for.
Tools and Materials Matte heavy weight paper
Craft knife or scissors
Glue stick or double-sided tape
Waxed paper (optional)
Chip-Cone How-To
1. Print clip-art image (red or blue) and trim.(Click on photo to go to web site to get the patterns) Score along dotted line, and fold back to create a tab.
2. Wrap to form cone, and attach sides with glue stick or double-sided tape. To prevent grease marks, line the inside of the cone with waxed paper if desired

Everytime I read this I just laugh and laugh :}}}

Grandma is eighty-eight years old and still drives her own car.

She writes:

Dear Grand-daughter,

The other day I went up to our local Christian book store and saw a'Honk if you love Jesus' bumper sticker ..

I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting.

So, I bought the sticker and put it on my bumper. Boy, am I glad I did; what an uplifting experience that followed.

I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good He is, and I didn't notice that the light had changed.

It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn't honked, I'd never have noticed.

I found that lots of people love Jesus!

While I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy,and then he leaned out of his window and screamed, 'For the love of God!' 'Go! Go! Go! Jesus Christ, GO!'

What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus!

Everyone started honking!

I just leaned out my window and started waving and smiling at all those loving people.

I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love!

There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him yelling something about a sunny beach.

I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air.

I asked my young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant. He said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something. Well, I have never met anyone from Hawaii , so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign right back.

My grandson burst out laughing.

Why even he was enjoying this religious experience!! A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me.

I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is when I noticed the light had changed.

So, grinning, I waved at all my brothers and sisters, and drove on through the intersection.

I noticed that I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light changed again and felt kind of sad that I had to leave them after all the love we had shared. So I slowed the car down, leaned out the window and gave them all theHawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away.. Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!!

Are you a Mean Green Cleaning Machine???

Here is an ugly thing to talk about the first thing on a beautiful Sunday morning!!! But I came across this awesome post from Dollar Store Crafts and I just had to share it with my wonderful friends. This offering is from Merwing-Little Dear’s for making your own Swiffer duster covers!

When you’re done using them, toss ‘em into the laundry! Now you have no excuse for not mopping and dusting! Evil, I know!
You can make them out of fleece blankets from the dollar store, or better yet, microfiber dusting cloths (yes, they sell those at the DS too!). There aren’t any instructions for making the Swiffer mop cover, but it looks pretty simple, doesn’t it? Another fantastic.... simple.... fun idea ;O)
An easy peasy way to go green reusable cleaning cloths!!!!

A Pocket Full Of Posies :)

CHOCOLATE-PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE BARS

1 box Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix
1/2 C peanut butter chips
1/2 C dry roasted peanuts, chopped (optional)

Peanut Butter Filling:
3/4 C creamy peanut butter
1 C marshmallow cream
6 T butter, softened
3/4 powdered sugar

Chocolate Glaze:
6 oz bittersweet baking chocolate, coarsely chopped
5 T butter
1 T light corn syrup

Preheat oven to 350. Line a 9 inch square pan with foil, letting foil extend above pan on opposite sides. Coat foil with nonstick spray.Prepare brownie mix as package directs for fudgy brownies. Stir in peanut butter chips and peanuts. Spread evenly in prepared pan.Bake 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs attached. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.

FILLING: beat peanut butter, marshmallow cream and butter in medium bowl until well blended. Reduce speed to low and add powdered sugar. Beat until blended. Spread evenly over brownie.

GLAZE: microwave chocolate and butter, stirring at 30 second intervals until melted and smooth. Cool slightly before stirring in corn syrup. Spread evenly over filling. Refrigerate 1 hour until filling is firm and glaze sets.Lift foil by ends onto a cutting board and cut 6 rows lengthwise and across. Store in fridge to keep firm.
