2012 Holiday Block swap rules

The rules will be the same for both Halloween and Christmas.

Now that I am getting some interest in my
Holiday  Block Swaps here are the rules...
A. UNFINISHED 12 ½ inch blocks using 100 % quality Cotton.
B. Holiday colors up to you and each block can use different fabrics (same theme though).
C. You will need to pick a theme. Only one theme for the group. If I have too many of the same theme I will request you to choose another one ;) Or I will suggest one to you :) Please look to see what has already been spoken for in group and choose another fun theme.
D. I have chosen " Unk I will have to think on this one ;) ”
E. Exp: I will make 12 UNK finished blocks (same theme)... size 12 ½ inches using any Holiday fabrics I wish.
F. You  may use any technique you want, some ideas; pieced, paper piece, applique, embroidery, fusing, whatever makes you comfortable. You can also send embellishments for the finished block. Do not add these, you have to quilt your quilt.. so please put the embellishments in a zip lock baggie.

Christmas Ideas: Santa, Stocking, Gingerbread houses, Christmas Trees, Bells....

Donations Please :O)

Hello Ladies... I am starting on a Christmas Project.. and would like to know if any of my fine friends have some Christmas fabric scraps ( I do mean scraps!) that they would like to donate to my project... the scraps have to be big enough to make a 2 1/2 X 4 1/2 inch square. All donations would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to get some different fabrics than the ones that I already have. Send me a message if your wanting to donate :O) Thanks in Advance :O) M

LOL I thought I better start Christmas now so I will have time to get it finish.. since I have been having all of these issues with my arms and hands.
I had my first cervical spine injection and so far nada... I am hoping the one on the 19th will help me some. I do have to admit the steroids did give me a bit more energy .. or maybe that winter is over.
Since I have that seasonal disorder.
Anyway I am trying to sew a bit... I have my mug rugs done and ready to ship out tomorrow :O)
Is it me or people not holding or joining in on swaps anymore?
I would love to hear your answers...
Hugs until next time!

Ps... Thank you everyone for your well wishes and good Vibes ;O)

Don't Give Up on Me!!

Hello Sweet Blogging Friends, :O)
I am so sorry I have been away so very long... I have been having some problems with my past auto accident since Christmas. I have not been posting a whole lot during that time.
I went yesterday and received the first of three injections in my cervical. The doctors are hoping this will take the swelling down in my neck and stop the shooting pains that are running down my arms and out my fingers. It feels sort of like lightning strikes to me... Can't hold on to stuff and for sure can't use a pair of scissors.
Although I have pushed myself to get some of my started items done and also complete my Spring Mug Rug swap. I hope after the second injection that I am able to sew comfortably again... I sure miss my sewing machine. I love to create :O) Until then ladies know that I am here and I miss all of you and your wonderful notes and comments..

Until I see you again here is a very fun Tutorial for a Zakka Lunch Bag from EverKelly.

Great tip via E-mail

Hi Quilty Ladies,

I have to share this info with everyone who made a jelly roll quilt or anyone thinking about it. We discovered at Spring Retreat that the jelly rolls with pinked edges make a mess - lots of little threads on clothes and floor  and dust in sewing machines.  Had this light bulb moment...  Before I unrolled  my jelly roll I vacuumed  the pinked sides.  I used the small  furniture attachment to the vacuum and lowered the suction. I held the jelly roll in my hand and vacuumed lightly over the sides. What a difference when I unrolled the jelly roll..  I don't know if this will help anyone else but it is the first time I didn't mind using my vacuum.  Is there a special vacumm just for quilters??? Lol

Hey my Friends ;O)

Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes and concerns.. I am feeling better today so I thought I would put up a little post. I have to say this neck, hand and arm business is for the birds... It's bad for me as a person that loves to sew. I can't even open and close a pair of scissors!! I tried to cut applique parts for a mug rug just a couple of days ago and had to quit.... I am like the rest of you. I hope this current little problem hurry ups and gets better. I hate not sewing!! Speaking of sewing....
I want my followers to start these projects now. I am still going to hold my Annual Halloween Block Swap and My Christmas Block swap. I'm Giving my usual participants advance warning. This knowledge will give you almost 10 months to come up with ideas and making your blocks.
I was thinking I am sort of getting spring fever... I want to hold a mug rug swap. I just love those little bits of fabric! Not to forget to mention the instant gratification of the quick project!!

Mug Rug Swap
I think it would be fun to make a Mug Rug using your choice of the following themes.
Gardening, Flowers or a spring Animal (exp Bird)
The theme is your choice and you will make one Mug Rug
At least a 8 X 10 in size
One Extra....
One little gifty that corresponds with your theme.
For example if I made a garden mug rug.. I might send along a package of Seeds

Hello My Sweet Blogging Friends :O)

I am sorry I have been away. I have been having trouble with my old car accident injuries. I have recently begun to have pain in my shoulders and down my arms into my hands. The PT Doctor seems to think I have some entrapped nerves that run down my arm. It starts at my neck and runs the entire length of my arm into my hands. I can barely make it through my work day with all the typing I have to do, which leaves me too sore to sew or type much after I get home. Most days I don't want to do anything but sit in front of the TV after taking some pain pills. I made myself finish up a Christmas gift this week. My Person knew that it was going to be late. I also had two custom orders that I had to make over the last 10 days. They were easy  mostly sewing on the sewing machine. Thank goodness not a lot of hand work. My fingers and thumbs are having spasms and I am unable to hold a needle very long. I can only do things on short bursts.  I don't know when I will be better. I am doing PT stuff now to try and get back to my normal without all this extra pain...
I am sorry but until I get to feeling better.. I will not be holding any more swaps or posting much.
I am sorry If you don't see me here very much. You can try and catch me on FaceBook or see my pins on Pinterest when I feel up to clicking :O) Until then my sweet friends...
Happy Stitching and NO Ripping ;O)

I am still very behind.. sorry!

Hello everyone.. I am still running behind but I thought I would show you my Christmas Stocking that I made for my Annual Christmas Swap... I had a great time making this little guy. I used variegated, and silver threads on it. I have to admit.. I made a mistake on it.. I discovered the mistake when I edited the photos. I didn't even notice until it was already in the mail. Do you see the mistake??
OH well makes it all the more one of a kind :O)
I hope my partner loved hers.. I was very excited when I received my exchange from her :O)
I will modify this post soon to show all of you her lovely stocking!

I also made a fun craft apron for my daughter out of used jeans.... The center pocket has a zinger to attach your scissors and the pocket is to keep them tucked out of the way when not in use ;O)
