Several of the ladies in the Bionic Gear Bag sewing group are making these adorable thread catchers to go into their gear bags.. they are easy enough for all of our beginners.. there is a video on youtube and also this link from RedHenFabrics.

These little catchers work up fast and easy. Some of the ladies stated that they even hand stitch the long length so they don't have to do it on the sewing machine.
There are many types of containers you can use to make up these little catchers. You just have to make sure that the ring is sturdy at the top. I myself ......was thinking about using one of my round plastic handi wipe containers. I will have to measure my ring and then deduct two inches from that length to get the height. This would be the height I would use for my catcher.. At least that is the way I have it figured out from the video.
We will see.... I will have to make it as soon as my wipes bottle is empty. I'll let you know how it works out.
I have also found an additional cute and easy bowl/thread catcher..
This idea was also shared in the BGB group.
Here is a link for making these little bowls.
Or you can use this link for another tutorial, at Ellison Lane.

But silly ole me lost the link!!
If you know the link please post it in comments. Thanks...

Hi, I love these little things and will be trying to make one. What are the folded up triangle objects laying flat on the table with the thread catchers?
Michelle those are needlebooks....
