A Childs half apron
Free Ripply Apron Pattern - Vintage 1951
Materials:3/4 yard 36″ printed cotton3 1/2 yards of bias cotton skirt facing in contrasting color
Directions:
Following Diagram 16 (see below), cut apron. Also cut 2 ties each 4″ x 36″. Make two 1/2″ pleats on each side of top edge of apron, bringing notches to circles, as on diagram. Pencil lightly around apron 5″ up from bottom edge. Fold bias facing in half lengthwise and stitch open edges to skirt, following pencil line. Bind side and bottom edges with the bias facing so that it extends as far as possible beyond apron. Pleat at corners to form miters.
Right sides together, stitch center seam of shaped waistband facing and press open. Right sides together, sew waistband facing to waistband along curved edge. Turn and press. With right side of facing and wrong side of apron together, stitch so that waistband extends about 1/2″ on each side of apron. Turn and press. Turn under lower edge of waistband and baste. Turn in side edges of waistband even with skirt. Make narrow hems along sides and 1 end of each tie. Pleat other end of each tie to fit between side edges of waistband and facing. Baste in place. Top-stitch around entire waistband.
Bind long side of pocket piece as apron edges were bound. Turn in side edges and sew pocket to right-hand side of apron as on diagram. This will make the pocket flare out.

Note: The dark edge at the top of the waistband is discoloration on the picture (top photo of finished apron).

I would love to have one of these aprons.. this pattern is a small size...When I get the time I will have to do some pattern adjustments...Don't you think this apron would look good with Vintage white Cherry Fabric ?
Ok Sweet apron friends.. I am looking for free Momma San apron patterns. I have found one on the net but I would like to have 2-3 different ones. If you have a pattern and would like to share let me know :)

A Blonde gets Even
A trucker came into a truck stop cafe and placed his order. He said,"I want three flat tires, a pair of headlights and pair of running boards."The brand new blonde waitress, not wanting to appear stupid, went to the kitchen and said to the cook, "This guy out there just ordered three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards. What does he think this place is, an auto parts store?""No," the cook said. "Three flat tires mean three pancakes, a pair of headlights is two eggs sunny side up, and running boards are 2 slices of crisp bacon.""Oh, OK!" said the blonde. She thought about it for a moment and then spooned up a bowl of beans and gave it to the customer. The trucker asked, "What are the beans for, Blondie?"I LOVE THIS ONE...........She replied, "I thought while you were waiting for the flat tires, headlights and running boards, you might as well gas up! "FOR ONCE THE BLONDE GETS EVEN! (maybe)"
The couple were 85 years old and had been married for sixty years. Though they were far from rich, they managed to get by because they watched their pennies. Though not young, they were both in very good health, largely due to the wife's insistence on healthy foods and exercise for the last decade. One day, their good health didn't help when they went on a rare vacation and their plane crashed, sending them off to Heaven.
They reached the pearly gates, and St. Peter escorted them inside. He took them to a beautiful mansion, furnished in gold and fine silks, with a fully stocked kitchen and a waterfall in the master bath. A maid could be seen hanging their favorite clothes in the closet. They gasped in astonishment when he said, 'Welcome to Heaven. This will be your home now.'
The old man asked Peter how much all this was going to cost. 'Why, nothing,' Peter replied, 'remember, this is your reward in Heaven.' The old man looked out the window and right there he saw a championship golf course, finer and more beautiful than any ever built on Earth. 'What are the greens fees?,' grumbled the old man. 'This is heaven,' St. Peter replied. 'You can play for free, every day.'
Next they went to the clubhouse and saw the lavish buffet lunch, with every imaginable cuisine laid out before them, from seafood to steaks to exotic deserts, free flowing beverages. 'Don't even ask,' said St. Peter to the man. This is Heaven, it is all free for you to enjoy.' The old man looked around and glanced nervously at his wife. 'Well, where are the low fat and low cholesterol foods and the decaffeinated tea?,' he asked. That's the best part,' St. Peter replied. 'You can eat and drink as much as you like of whatever you like and you will never get fat or sick.
This is Heaven!' The old man pushed, 'No gym to work out at?' 'Not unless you want to,' was the answer. 'No testing my sugar or blood pressure or...' 'Never again. All you do here is enjoy yourself.' The old man glared at his wife and said,
'You and your *@*%*@% bran muffins. We could have been here ten years ago!'
Working at the Desk ;(

It's sad but true I have put some poundage on since I had to start working the desk at my job.. (5 lbs) I hate riding the pine as we call it. All you do is answer the phones and stuff food in your mouth. So starting this week I have went on that dirty little 4 letter word that when written back words is T-die.. Yes the big diet..... I find myself sitting a lot more now that I have been involved in so many wonderful apron swaps. I also spend several hours in front of the sewing machine sewing different items. Dog apparel, my handcrafted pincushions and so forth. Not to forget sitting in front of the computer monitor keeping up with all of my internet friends.
Isn't it strange when you tell yourself your going on a diet.. then you have to eat everything in site. Whats up with that????? Well I am like a Crack head that is addict to Crack... but mine is Chocolate... I'm just a crack head... :) I have to have my Chocolate. LOL I am a Chocolate Head... hum that doesn't sound right or even funny does it? All I know for sure is this diet thing stinks, but I want to be able to fit into my clothing.
So I need some good suggestions on what I can take to work and snack on. I know the regular veggie thing..but I want something different and tasty. No paper items... like those rice cakes.. or no wood items like those power bars. I want food nothing synthetic. Do any of you have fun little snack recipes.. that you can share :) Now I don't want to go into how much I hate sugar free or fat free... so it really has to be something tasty :)
PS: I am really not a Crack Head... but I am addicted to Chocolate.

The day after Halloween....
I hope all those little Ghoulies and Goblins are feeling ok!!! I hope they did not get a fright of their lives, or eat too many sweets to get that tummy ache. I hope it was a fun nite for everyone.
I have been doing some house cleaning of my blog and just wanted to let everyone know in case they are looking for a photo I had up.
I had mention earlier... that blogger only lets you post so many photos free... so I had to delete a few ..... so there would be room for other wonderful fun photos for the Christmas season :)
Thank you for understanding ;)
