Ladies I have to tell you today was a great day!!!
Here is what I did ;)
Yes !!! You guessed it.... I cut most of my hair off. I had thought about it for a while now and I just walked by this salon and asked my friend if she would hold my hand while I cut it off. She laughed and told me I better wait.. she was not to excited about me cutting off my hair. I don't think she thought I was serious about it. I don't think she has ever seen me with short hair. So we continued to shop and as we went by the hair salon on the way out she said are you going to go in and cut your hair??? Of course!!! I walk right in sat down. The young lady said to me how much do you want off? (Several of you saw how long my hair was....down to my waist. I posted a photo of it on the blog.) I told her shoulder level and she asked if I was sure .. I said its hair it grows out. I'm sure. She then asked if I wanted to donate my hair to locks of love. I said of course!! I then went on to explain to her its been almost 24 years since my last short hair cut, and locks of love was not around then and its a wonderful thing ;) I didn't realize that there was a length requirement. But I met that without any trouble. It was a fun time getting my hair cut.. the young lady wasn't really sure she wanted to cut that much off either... but I finally convinced her to do it. My friend bless her heart cried the whole time I was in the chair. She was shocked!! Not me .. I think its great.. I did another wonderful thing for someone else today :) So tomorrow after I wake up my donation will be in the mail on its way to help a child or adult in need :)

What a wonderful thing to do! We need a picture of you with short hair tho!
Brave woman! Pitty, grab Mummy's camera and get a photo to sneak up on the blog. Yep, it will grow back and in the meantime you've helped someone - well done.
Wow, congratulations! What a huge change, after 24 years especially!
With a head of hair like that, who needs a style! It's gorgeous! Good for you! I did that many years ago along with my oldest daughter who was only about 7 at the time but she wanted to cut hers and donate it too. What a lift that gave me, to lighten the load on top of my head and help someone else in the process. I have hair like yours, very thick and heavy when it's long. It was a good thing you did, and I bet you look 10 years younger!

I love Locks of Love and what they do! Do you feel a load off your shoulders now that you have done something different with your hair after all those years of keeping it super long?!? (I can't keep mine long for too much time because I get headaches when my hair is long...and it is too much work...although the first time you wash you hair after you have cut such a large amount off it feels VERY strange!!)
If I had hair that thick and wavy I would be SO SO SO happy!
Bless your heart! I bet that felt sooo good! I have been thinking of doing that very same thing.
That is just wonderful - I'd do it just for the weight loss. But you contributed to such a wonderful cause as well - Enjoy the new do!
OMG!!!! what a big decision to make. I have seen you in person with your long beautiful hair! :) BUT.... I bet you do feel great ~ the hair cut looks fabulous from the back ~ I just know it makes you look younger to.
Congrats on your decision!!

PS - I love your new Christmas background! Where did you get it?? You know, me and RED rickrack:) LOL!
your hair looks gorgeous. Locks of love is a wonderful thing. My sil does it every time her hair gets long enough. Mine doesn't grow long...just wide thanks to the curls! haha!
