Don't you even try and act like you all ready knew this either.

I had to go into the kitchen and check this out for myself. Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil box? You know when you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, Press here to lock end. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up.I'm sharing this with my friends. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this.

Yep - I jumped right up and raced out to the kitchen! It's all true! Brand name...generic...the only exception appears to be waxed paper :-( Thanks, Marcel, for bringing this important information to our attention! I will sleep MUCH better tonight for knowing it! Hahaha.....

Well, I called the police, Marcel! They weren't very nice. They told me this was NOT an appropriate use of 911! I gave them your name, mailing and e-mail address, and phone number. They should be contacting you shortly :-) Do you think my box of waxed paper might possibly NOT have the feature because it pre-dates the Civil War? I have to admit, I fell in love with "waxed paper squares" - my brand is "Kabnet-Wax" 500 sheets of 10 x 10-3/4 Interfolded Deli Wrap. You just pull 'em out like Kleenex! So I guess I don't have the need to buy boxed waxed paper very often. It's probably the one my mom had in the drawer before she passed on, and that was more than 11 years ago. Do you hear your phone ringing now? It's probably the coppers...and you are most likely in trouble :-)

dear Auntie...Where have you been? Everyone knows that info. You need to get out more often instead of parking in front of the puter. There are help groups for stay-at-home fanatics. heeheehee

I learned the tab tricks just last year! I still forget to punch the stinkin things out!

They are on some of the Aussie ones. Mostly the more expensive ones and the bigger rolls.

Well, just slap my forehead and call me a step-child. I had to go look and sure enough, there is that tab. On both ends even! Publix brand. Will wonders ever cease?

Just wwent to have a look - not on my UK boxes, BUT one box does have the tabs, but no explanation... it's a brilliant idea. How fascinating.

LOL!!! I remember last year when I read someone else's post about this, I was shocked and amazed!! How stupid could I be?, I thought! I never saw that before either, but then who'd ever think you need to read the box to use the foil, waxed paper or plastic wrap???! Yep! all those years of frustration with the foil falling out of the box and rolling ALL the way across the kitchen floor (which was always dirty, of course!)and all I had to do was read the box!!!:(
LOL!

Well, I'll be. You're right it's there, but I never knew it. I did not notice it on the wax paper, tho. Just the aluminum foil and plastic wrap.
